Delegating Nurse

Description:
The Delegating Nurse provides supervisory guidance to certified nursing assistants and other non-licensed caregivers, ensuring they deliver safe and effective patient care. This role requires assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and delegating tasks appropriately to maintain high standards of care.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients’ needs and develop comprehensive care plans that guide non-licensed staff in delivering safe, quality care.
  • Delegate specific nursing tasks to certified nursing assistants and other caregivers, following established healthcare protocols.
  • Train, supervise, and monitor the performance of non-licensed care staff to ensure compliance with patient care standards.
  • Conduct periodic assessments of patient conditions, adjusting care plans as needed.
  • Serve as a resource and support to non-licensed staff, addressing questions and providing clinical guidance.
  • Ensure proper documentation of care activities, reporting any patient changes or concerns to relevant healthcare teams.
  • Stay updated with healthcare best practices and standards, implementing them in care delegation procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent.
  • Active RN license with experience in patient care.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or delegating role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to train and supervise staff.
  • Ability to make sound clinical judgments and decisions.
  • Familiarity with patient care documentation and healthcare standards.
