Description:
The Delegating Nurse provides supervisory guidance to certified nursing assistants and other non-licensed caregivers, ensuring they deliver safe and effective patient care. This role requires assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and delegating tasks appropriately to maintain high standards of care.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients’ needs and develop comprehensive care plans that guide non-licensed staff in delivering safe, quality care.
- Delegate specific nursing tasks to certified nursing assistants and other caregivers, following established healthcare protocols.
- Train, supervise, and monitor the performance of non-licensed care staff to ensure compliance with patient care standards.
- Conduct periodic assessments of patient conditions, adjusting care plans as needed.
- Serve as a resource and support to non-licensed staff, addressing questions and providing clinical guidance.
- Ensure proper documentation of care activities, reporting any patient changes or concerns to relevant healthcare teams.
- Stay updated with healthcare best practices and standards, implementing them in care delegation procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent.
- Active RN license with experience in patient care.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or delegating role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to train and supervise staff.
- Ability to make sound clinical judgments and decisions.
- Familiarity with patient care documentation and healthcare standards.
